Kim’s Cycle Vietnam to Cambodia

In March , the team donated £4600 to Bart's Charity.

I cycled from Vietnam to Cambodia in 6 Days temperatures up to 40 Degrees, was an amazing experience.
I was fundraising for Bart’s Charity to support the amazing London hospitals, this is a charity close to my Heart, this is my friend Julie’s story below:

My family has all been affected by polycystic kidney disease.
It is a disease that is inherited and causes multiple cysts to form on both kidneys leading to Kidney failure usually between the age of
30-40.
My Father died age 55 after having end stage renal failure at 51
followed by dialysis and then a transplant.
Through research, the drugs to prevent rejection have improved
since then and so has life expectancy.
Even so, the long-term effects of the drugs cause skin cancer and
compromise the immune system.
I am one of 5 siblings. (4 of whom have inherited the disease and
can therefore pass it on)

Myself and 2 sisters have been fortunate to get kidney transplants
and another sister is on the donor list awaiting a kidney. My brother that did
not inherit the disease became a donor instead.
It is so important that research into this disease continues for
future generations in the hope that dialysis and transplantation may not be
necessary.

Jog 40 Miles in January

In January , the team donated £235 to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

My name is Kim Simpson and I work at Guy Salmon Land Rover Maidstone.
This is a great charity which is close to me so I decided to jog 40 miles in January, I am not a jogger but I completed and raised £235.00 for charity.
My next challenge is in October when I will be cycling from Vietnam to Cambodia for Kidney Research & Great London hospitals 🙂
