Jog 40 Miles in January

In January , the team donated £235 to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

My name is Kim Simpson and I work at Guy Salmon Land Rover Maidstone.
This is a great charity which is close to me so I decided to jog 40 miles in January, I am not a jogger but I completed and raised £235.00 for charity.
My next challenge is in October when I will be cycling from Vietnam to Cambodia for Kidney Research & Great London hospitals 🙂

Christmas Raffle

In December , the team donated £221.5 to Bristol Children Charity.

Donation to Bristol Children Chartiy

We wanted to try and raise some funds for this fantastic charity so we held a Christmas raffle to win a hamper, we sold tickets to colleagues and customers and managed to raise a fantastic £221.50!
This donation went directly to children that are in need of beds, school uniform, IT equipment in the Bristol area and everyone that works for the charity is a volunteer so all the funds go directly to the children.

Paint a model Car

In September , the team donated £186.52 to Cruse Breavement Chartiy.

Artistic Flair

We decided to do a ‘Paint your own model car’ to raise money for charity, we asked colleagues to nominate a charity close to them and Cruse Bereavement Charity came up as they had helped one of our colleagues get through a very tough time, so we decided to donate the money raised to them. We sold the cars and then colleagues had to paint them, we had a lot of entries so we split the categories into two, one for adult and the other for children, we asked colleagues to pop some money into the cars that they wanted to win, colleagues then had the chance to buy back their cars, we had 2 very happy winners Luke and Leo and we also managed to raise a fantastic £186.52!

Team Tollbar Volvo – Heineken Race to the Castle 100km

In June , the team donated £2000 to South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust - SCBU.

Team Tollbar smashed it!!

We raised money for Warwick hospital Special care baby unit – SCBU. On March 9th 2013, my son Nihaal was born 2 months premature. He was rushed straight from me in theatre to SCBU, with a very distressed father in tow. The care that Nihaal, myself, my husband and the family received was nothing less than amazing. From the doctors, nurses, equipment to the small knitted hats and blankets, it all made the difference to Nihaal coming home, and us starting our life as a family of three. They even coped with my incessant phone calls throughout the night with such understanding and care. Thanks to SCBU and all the staff at the maternity department, Nihaal is with us and growing up to be as crazy as his parents.
The 100k challenge was scary but we did it! The conditions on the first day were atrocious with headwind and rain the whole way. Second day the sun came out to help! Not going to lie, the hardest thing I have ever done. So proud of all that took part especially team Tollbar. Seth ran the 100k in the official time of 10.19.29 and came fifth overall. The man was still smiling and even supported the rest of us that were walking once he was done! Charlie kept me going through blistered feed and twisted knee! Tony and Sophie smashed the second day! Thank you to all that supported us!!!!!

Heart Centre at NGH Giving Something Back

In June , the team donated £3200 to Heart Centre at Northampton General Hospital.

Adkins giving something back

Each year, Rob and his family take a day to fundraise for a different charity. This year they chose the Heart Centre at Northampton General Hospital who have looked after loved ones of theirs and ours over the years.
The Adkin’s family conducted a raffle, provided afternoon tea in the garden serving over 90 tea’s and a further 80 were collected and delivered – all COVID safe of course! In total the Adkin’s were delighted to celebrate that they raised £3,200.00 in total – absolutely amazing efforts and dedication. Even a member of our team at Northampton won a prize on the raffle!
The hard work and dedication of Rob and his family meant they could raise such a fantastic amount and the team here very much look forward to supporting the family year after year with their fundraising.

Cynthia Spencer Charity Day

In May , the team donated 1 working days to Cynthia Spencer.

Neil Sidebottom Giving Something Back

At JLR Northampton we work and support Cynthia Spencer who is a local Hospice charity, they provide a range of different care to those with life limiting illnesses.
We fundraise for the charity and are recognised as one of the many local companies they work with to assist with the running costs of the hospital.

This month, Neil Sidebottom gave up his own time in the sunshine to help fundraise for them. Neil truly has a good heart to give up his day off to work with the carers to support in fundraising. A true act of selflessness from Neil, which we recognise, well done Neil!

Auction

In April , the team donated £1025 to Brandan Trust (Elm Tree Farm).

We are very proud to have raised £1025 for Elm Tree Farm (Brandan Trust) who run a local farm, they were very hard hit by the pandemic and lost 80% of their workforce due to them having to self isolate, they have just about managed to stay afloat and have now manged to get over 50% of the team back to work, we were very pleased to be able to help them out at such a hard time with a donation and we hope to keep the relationship going in the future with some helping days when we can.

Silent Auction

In February , the team donated £816.5 to PICU (Friends of Paediatric Intensive Care Unit).

Thank you form PICU (Friends of Paediatric Intensive Care Unit)

Following the closure of Guy Salmon Jaguar Land Rover Ascot, there were a number of items that were either memorable or too good to be disposed of. It was therefore decided a Silent Auction would take place of such items and a catalogue of items was put together and emailed to the team. We were pleased that the majority of items were sold and went to new homes and the auction had made an amazing total of £816.50.
We donated the monies to our chosen charity PICU (Friends of Paediatric Intensive Care Unit).
